CliniKids is a not-for-profit centre integrating world-class research with a clinical service for children with developmental delay and/or an autism diagnosis, and their families. It is the first of its kind for autism in Australia.
One of the unique aspects of CliniKids is the integration of clinical services with cutting-edge research. Our exceptional team of researchers work in collaboration with our clinicians to give the community access to the world's best evidence-based therapies.
CliniKids is committed to helping to support families and help them achieve their goals.
Part of that is developing autism resources to assist families and caregivers in their everyday lives.
This includes handy fact sheets, which are available for families to download, that cover off on everyday activities such as sleeping, mealtimes, toileting, challenging behaviours and more.
The What is autism? page includes a definition of autism, why it is called a spectrum disorder, the characteristics of autism, how autism is diagnosed and potential causes of autism spectrum disorder. It also contains a short video featuring CliniKids Director Professor Andrew Whitehouse discussing autism and how early support and evidence-based therapies can help all children reach their full potential.
Our COVID-19 Safe outlines how our team at CliniKids are dedicated to providing families with quality sessions in a COVID-safe environment.
