CliniKids is committed to involving consumers and the community in all aspects of our research and service delivery.
One way we do this is by providing the opportunity for consumers and community members to contribute through our community reference groups.
The purpose of our consumer reference groups is to:
- Uplift the voices of the autistic and autism communities in informing research and clinical services
- Enhance the quality and relevance of the research and clinical services we offer through collaboration and consultation
- Help ensure that the priorities of the community are reflected deeply within the work we do
- To support the dissemination of our research into the community
As a member of our consumer reference group you might:
- Provide guidance on community priorities
- Provide guidance on how to best engage the broader autism and autistic communities
- Provide guidance on how best to communicate research projects or results, including reviewing plain language summaries
- Review documents to ensure they are clear, useful and aligned with your values and preferences
- Provide advice and support for research grant applications
